ENGAA will once again participate in the North Penn Valley fall softball league in Lansdale.  We will field one 10U and one 12U team.  Roster spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  If there is enough interest, we will consider adding a second team at either level (10U or 12U).

We continue to hold Wednesday evening clinics to sharpen the girls skills in advance of the fall ball season, which begins in early September.  As the teams begin to take shape, we will begin holding formal practices in August.

Cost per player is $35.  We will be re-using our black and white spring softball 2013 uniform shirts.  If your daughter did not play spring ball, or if she no longer has her spring uniform shirt, you can add a new one to your registration for an additional $15 surcharge.  If you do need a uniform shirt, please register as soon as possible, so that we place our order soon.  You will be responsible for purchasing black shorts or pants, if your child requires them.

What about 8U?

If your child would like to play at the 8U level, please send an email to softball@engaa.net.  If we get enough interest, and if someone will volunteer to coach, we will field a team.  With permission of the softball coordinator, some 8U players may be able to play up to the 10U level; please email Matt Janis, the Softball Director, at softball@engaa.net to inquire about this before registering.

What about 14U?

If your daughter would like to play at the 14U level, please also send an email to softball@engaa.net.  The North Penn Valley league does not have a 14U division, but if there is enough interest we may attempt to join another league.

How do I register?

Registration is online with SportsSignUp.  Please visit https://engaa.sportssignup.com/ to get started; if you have an existing SportsSignUp account, there’s no need to create a new one.

Online registration for field hockey for 2013 is now open.  As with last year’s fall softball, basketball, and this spring’s softball season, registration is available through SportsSignUp.  Please see the Online Registration page for more details.  If you have an existing account, you don’t need to create a new one.

Registration is $85/child, with a $10/child discount for all registrations received on or before July 1, 2013.  There is a $5 family discount for the second, third, and fourth children registered from one family on one order.

All registrations must be received by August 1.  We cannot guarantee a uniform for registrations received after that date.  The season begins with practices in mid-August, and lasts through early November.

If you have any questions, please send them to info@engaa.net.

ENGAA is calling a meeting of all committed, prospective, and/or interested softball coaches on Wednesday, March 13th at 7:30 PM in the conference room of KSM Technology Partners in Trooper.  Attending this meeting does not commit you to being a head or assistant coach, but it is strongly recommended for anyone who wants to do so.  We want to start the year off right by getting all of our wonderful volunteers all the information they need.

As a reminder: no one can coach any ENGAA softball team in any on-field capacity unless they have submitted to, and passed, our online background check process.  This applies to coaches and assistant coaches, and to any parent-helpers.  If you have not yet completed the background check process, please email the ENGAA secretary at secretary@engaa.net for instructions.  If you have any questions about or trouble with the online background check process, the ENGAA secretary will be present at the March 13th meeting to assist you in a confidential setting.

KSM Technology Partners is located in Building B of the Pinebrook I Business Center*, 2650 Eisenhower Avenue, Suite 105B, Lower Providence, PA 19403 (see map).  From the intersection of Egypt Road and Trooper Road, take Trooper Road west toward route 422, passing Wawa, Bertucci’s and Qdoba on your right.  Eisenhower Avenue is the first right after the Valley Forge Beef and Ale house, directly across the street from St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox church, in the Park Pointe office park.  After turning right onto Eisenhower, continue for a quarter mile til you see the sign for Pinebrook I Business Center, and turn into the complex.  KSM is all the way on the left of the middle building, labeled building “B.”   The lights will be on.  If you get lost, call the office at 610.628.0550.

(*Do not turn into the Pinebrook II Business Center, which you will pass en route to the Pinebrook I Business Center).

ENGAA has extended the spring 2013 softball registration deadline to Saturday, March 9th.  We must have all registrations in by this time to ensure that all girls have uniforms by the time we start play.

We expect to start practices on or around March 12th.

ENGAA softball will hold skills evaluations on Sunday, March 3rd, from 9-11 AM at the Eisenhower Middle School Gymnasium. The coaches will use these evaluations to assign your daughter(s) to a team, so please attend if you can.  Your daughter(s) cannot participate in evaluations if she has not been registered for the Spring 2013 season.  This is primarily for players 7 and above, but all ages are welcome to come to learn.

Attendees should wear sneakers (not cleats), and should bring a glove and a bat if they have one. They should also wear clothing with their names clearly marked across the back – magic marker over masking tape is fine.
